San Francisco Flickr User Group

Almost one-quarter of you prefer Monday evenings as the new SFlickr meeting day. Thank you for voting! (By the way, two of you voted for “other” but did not specify anything in the comments. Please comment here!)

Next up: we need a new location. In the comments on our last post, we determined that we need something both close to public transit (Muni, BART, and Caltrain) and central enough that the North Bay contingent would not be excluded.

Our group started small, so Café Abir worked well initially. Should we “reset” and head over to Café Abir? What are your thoughts?

Reviving SFlickr

framed, by sawall

Let’s revive SFlickr! We need to choose a day and time that works for the most people. Please vote in the poll. Note: you are just voting on one day per month, so if you have a commitment every third Thursday but other Thursdays work for you, please note that in the comments. You may choose more than one day!

Additionally, we need a location. We used to meet at Crossroads Café because it can accommodate large groups, has parking nearby, and is easy to get to from public transit. Not to mention the friendly staff, good lighting, and caaaaaaaake. If you have another idea, please leave it in the comments.

March SFlickr Meet

It’s slightly short notice, but hey, better than no meeting at all.

The monthly meeting of San Francisco Flickr users will take place on Thursday, March 11th from 7:00-10:00 p.m. at Crossroads Café. Come meet up with your fellow Flickr addicts and don’t forget your camera and your sweet tooth (mmmm, cake) and also your favorite photographic prop, if you happen to have one!

If you’ve got some photos you’ve taken that you’re especially proud of, we’d love to see those too!

San Francisco Open Studios

2009 San Francisco Open Studios is well underway with many photography exhibits, including work from SFlickr’s own Marilynne Morshead (also known as Sylph*) in Studio Nocturne.

Studio Nocturne will be located in the Fort Mason Center, Building D, Fleet Room on Weekend 2 (October 17-18) from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Will you be attending SF Open Studios this year?  Share your studio-scoping plans here and meet up with fellow SFlickrers!

Thank you to Daniel, Andrew, Mike P, Rosella, Jason, Megan, Ken, Elea, Marilynne, and Mike A for attending our October gathering. We had fun looking at prints as well as discussing ideas for the future of SFlickr, which looks very bright now.

This featured photo is by Andrew Ng and it makes me thirsty.
